Education

As the grandchild of a schoolteacher and a high school drop-out, I have been continuously reminded that education is a privilege that not everyone is allotted.

As a child matriculating through the public school system, I struggled to find a true passion for school and my love for education is inspired by the talented educators who changed my outlook on learning.  Now as a college graduate, I am a firm advocate that everyone needs an educator who identifies their potential. I hope to someday be the educator who reminds students they are capable of both learning and success.

For me, I have cultivated success through studying at the University of Illinois after transferring from community college. My college experience has changed not only how I view my community but, I how I experience the world around me. I am grateful for my education, and I will never forget the sacrifices and the dedication of others that provide me with this opportunity.
